CRPF man among 11 die of COVID-19 in J&K, toll 430 | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 05 (KNO): Eleven patients including a CRPF man who were tested positive for Novel Coronavirus died on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to COVID-19 in the Union Territory  to 430. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that eleven patients who died in J&K include a 55-year-old CRPF trooper, a 50-year-old woman from Kupwara, a 70-year-old woman from Sirhama Bijbehara, a 65-year-old man from SK Colony Anantnag, a 55-year-old man from Pattan Baramulla, a 43-year-old woman from Udhampur, a 50-year-old woman from Bemina Srinagar and a 58-year-old man from Chattabal Srinagar. He said that out of 11 deaths, three were reported from Srinagar, two from Anantnag and Budgam and one each from Bandipora, Kupwara, Baramulla and Udhampur. An official said that a CRPF man of 176 Battalion who was admitted on 25 July at BSF hospital and later shifted to SKIMS where he was tested positive and died on Wednesday due to Cardiac arrest. An official from SKIMS said that a 70-year-old woman from Sirhama Bijbehara who was admitted on 25 July and a 65-year-old man from SK Colony Anantnag who was admitted on 02 August died at SKIMS on Wednesday. An official from CD hospital Srinagar said that a 50-year-old woman from Kupwara who was admitted on 28 July died on Wednesday. He said that a 58-year-old man from Chattabal Srinagar who was referred from SMHS after testing positive died on Wednesday. An official from SMHS told KNO that a 55-year-old man from Pattan Baramulla who was admitted a few days ago, was tested positive after his death. He further added that a 50-year-old lady from Bemina was tested positive a day after her death. An official from Udhampur said that a 43-year-old woman from Ramnagar Udhampur who was suffering from cancer and other ailments died at Batra hospital. With eleven more deaths, the death toll due to COVID-19 has reached to 430 in J&K including 399 from Kashmir division and 31 from Jammu division—(KNO)
